Benjamin Kahn and the intensity of bodies and voices
The work of Benjamin Kahn unfolds at the intersection of dance, theatre and sound, approaching the body as a site of memory, transformation and political expression. His pieces bring together precise choreographic writing, text and strong sonic environments, creating spaces where individual and collective experiences are constantly negotiated.
The tour brings together several works from his repertoire, including Bless the Sound that Saved a Witch like me and The Blue Hour, two solo pieces that explore voice, silence and presence. Through physical and vocal intensity, these works open a space where inner states become visible, where the body resists, fractures and redefines itself. Alongside them, Focu Meu, a new group creation, extends this research toward collective dynamics, exploring energy, trance and the relationships between bodies in motion.
Across different contexts and formats, these performances engage with themes of urgency, identity and perception, questioning how bodies are seen, heard and constructed. Moving between intimacy and shared experience, the project creates a dialogue with audiences, offering a sensitive and powerful exploration of contemporary realities through movement and sound.
This project received support from la Collection by the French Institute Paris.
