Instante & Lontano: regional tour
Two incredible artists are coming to our region! The joint tour of their two solo performances kicks off in April in Split (Croatia), with stops in Pristina (Kosovo), Belgrade and Novi Sad (Serbia), before concluding in Zagreb (Croatia).
Through the relentless repetition of a simple gyratory movement to the point of exhaustion, Juan Ignacio Tula, with Instante, takes us on a hypnotic journey. Opposite him, Marica Marinoni shatters all boundaries—of form, of energy—as her Lontano unleashes an emotional storm teetering on the edge of chaos. The magnetic pull of the wheel, amplified by light, creates a breathtaking spectacle that distorts our perception of space and time.
In an intimate dialogue between flesh and wheel, Marica crafts a raw and mesmerizing language before our eyes—rolling, risking, escaping, spinning—breaking down under the weight of impacts and falls. A true act of defiance against the storm of intoxication, a surge of life, an ode to resilience.
Juan, in contrast, invites us on a whirling journey through the simplicity of his repeated spinning motion. From the dizziness of spirals emerges the instinct for survival, as the body pushes itself to its very limits, reaching the inflection point where everything becomes infinite. A gem of pure movement, bathed in stunning light, where the Cyr wheel never once touches the ground.
Two virtuoso artists, two solos, two sides of the same coin. Juan and Marica lead us to the edge of hypnosis, challenge our sense of time, and, in reflection, offer us transcendence and humanity.
For audiences aged 8 and up.
