Mission Roosevelt and reclaiming the city together

Mission Roosevelt is a participatory performance by the French company Productions Bis that transforms the city into a shared space for exploration. Conceived by Iacopo Fulgi with Diane Bonnot and Txus Marpei, the work invites audiences to experience the urban environment from an unexpected perspective. Neither a conventional performance nor a guided walk, Mission Roosevelt unfolds as a collective journey through public space, where spectators become active participants in the experience.  

At the heart of the project is the wheelchair, used not as a symbol of disability but as a metaphor for inequality and a tool for reimagining the city. Twenty participants travel together through the streets, leaving a temporary coloured trace on the ground and questioning the invisible rules that shape public space. Blending performance, urban intervention and collective action, Mission Roosevelt invites participants to experience the pleasure of disrupting everyday routines while reflecting on access, movement and the ways we inhabit our cities.   

Since its creation, Productions Bis has developed artistic projects that blur the boundaries between performance and public space, encouraging new relationships between audiences and the urban environment. With Mission Roosevelt, the company proposes a shared experience where the city becomes both stage and subject, opening a space for encounter, play and a renewed awareness of the places we move through every day.
