TRAIT(s) is a modern circus performance showcasing a Cyr wheel artist, inspired by abstract painters such as Vassili Kandinsky, Joan Miro, Yayoi Kusama, and Sonia Delaunay. This performance delves into the concept of the circle, both in form and content, utilizing the Cyr wheel to create a dynamic, moving pictorial artwork.
As shapes and colors emerge, the artist draws and writes her art live, transforming the stage into a living canvas. This performance, which is the final part of a triptych aimed at young audiences, revisits three circus fundamentals: the body, family, and the circle.
TRAIT(s) reimagines the fundamental aspects of the circus through an artistic and contemporary perspective. Each movement of the Cyr wheel embodies a line, a gesture, with the ever-present risk of imperfection, highlighting the fragility and beauty of the creative process.
