Lento e violento – Tour in Croatia and Serbia

After a successful first collaboration in 2022 in Zagreb (Cirkorama) and Split (ROOM 100), Compagnia Calentina Vortese returns to Southeast Europe for a new tour of its performance Lento e violento, accompanied by workshops for artists and local audiences. Organized in partnership with several structures and festivals in Croatia and Serbia, this tour will mark the final performances of the piece, as its author and performer Valentina Cortese has recently joined the company Baro d’Evel.

A performance between new magic and physical theatre

Lento e violento is a hybrid performance that combines new magic, contemporary dance, and physical theatre. The piece unfolds as a multi-layered enigma, where action repeats itself, illusion and doubt intertwine, and irony slips into the virtuosity of movement. A finalist of the circusnext 2020–2021 programme, the work has been widely presented across Europe and internationally.

Workshops: The Concepts of New Magic

Alongside the performances, Valentina Cortese will lead the workshop The Concepts of New Magic, offering both theoretical and practical insights into the creative logic of this distinctive discipline at the crossroads of poetry, mystery, and theatre.
