Master Class “Voice and Body” with Jorge Parente in Sarajevo
From October 10 to 12 in Sarajevo, internationally renowned pedagogue Jorge Parente will lead an exceptional master class entitled Voice and Body. Originally from France and a direct heir to the teaching of Zygmunt Molik, co-founder of Jerzy Grotowski’s Laboratory Theatre, Parente has dedicated his career to developing innovative methodologies that bring voice and movement into dialogue. His practice draws in particular on the Body Alphabet, a physical approach that frees the breath and amplifies vocal and emotional expression.
A rare training opportunity for the region
This master class offers a unique opportunity for the artistic community of Sarajevo and beyond. Fifteen participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries of Southeast Europe — students, professional actors, professors of voice and movement — will come together to explore the intimate relationship between body and voice. Unlike traditional vocal training, this approach integrates movement and breath, allowing participants to develop a heightened awareness of stage presence. Its regional dimension strengthens ties between artistic communities and fosters a collaborative cultural network.

By providing participants with practical tools and a pedagogical approach forged at the heart of European theatre research, Voice and Body helps fill a gap in regional artistic training. Participants will leave with a deeper awareness of their creative potential and the ability to integrate these techniques into their future projects and careers.
